Mayor of Hudson Heights

by Robert Chandler Kirk
(Hamilton, On)

This is either an inquiry or the beginning of a family Story.
I am the grandson of Joseph Edward Chandler.
Have you got a story or pictures of him or the period of the 1920's to 1950's ?

Joseph Edward Chandler's homestead
by: Anonymous

I am the President of the Cercle d'histoire de Rigaud and recently the name of Joseph Ed. Chandler came up. The secretary for the Cercle is Raymond Séguin and he grew up in Hudson. He had heard of Mr Chandler but didn't know exactly where he lived. Would you have an adress or picture of the homestead ?

In 1949, Ruby Guindon and a Dutchman drowned near M. Chandler's property after their boat capsized.I Believe the men were employees of Mr. Chandler.

I found a few articles in La Presse that mention Joseph Chandler as well as his obituary from the Montreal Gazette and the one printed in La Presse. If you don't have these copies, it would be my pleasure to forward them to you.

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

Thank you for your inquiry. The Hudson Historical Society would be the best source of information about past mayors. Good luck with your research efforts!
